Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Arts, Science and Commerce in association with Ad-Hoc Board of Studies in Information technology , University of Mumbai conducted a one-day workshop for the Revised Syllabus of T.Y.B.Sc.I.T Semester V in the subject of " Internet of Things" on 17th July,2018. The workshop was attended by the 130 faculty members of various affiliated colleges of University of Mumbai. Resource persons Prof Hiren Dand and Prof. Mandar Bhave conducted the hands-on sessions to provide the insights of the practical's based on the Raspberry Pi module.
TECHNOVATION EXHIBITION
On June 29th 2019, the Department of Information Technology hosted its annual project exhibition- “TECHNOVATION 2019-20” to showcase the technological skills of students of the department. The event included 14 (fourteen) projects comprising of hardware-based products, mobile-based applications to web applications. The projects presented at the event spanned diverse areas including human assistant technologies to products useful for wildlife habitats.
Some of the key attraction of exhibition included Automatic Bird feeder, Intelligent Color Sorting Machine, Generic Event Management platform, Realtime Order Management System and applications of Data Science. The exhibition was attended by students and faculties of the college across disciplines including BMS, BMM, B.A. besides B.Sc.(IT) and M.Sc. (IT) students. The exhibition was also attended and appreciated by the administrative staff of the college, visiting faculties of other colleges and faculties from neighboring college.
Overall, the project exhibition had been very successful in achieving its objective for motivating forthcoming batches to inculcate futuristic project ideas in regular curriculum projects. Many of the projects were well appreciated and recognized as products with commercial value.
Suggestions were received to promote such projects and take them to a finished product in the near future through incubation center of the college.
