Legends say that Lord Ganesha - the harbinger of success and the remover of obstacles, will take a new avataar to save our nature from a deadly rakshas called pollution. He will take the form of a tree to prevent the earth from massive destruction and bless humans with the wisdom to protect our nature.

His devotees will pray him in the form of Tree Ganesha – The Lord of Nature. Anyone who worships him will be blessed with good health and prosperity.

Born from the power of human mind and the beauty of nature, the Lord shall assume the divine form of Tree Ganesha to bless his devotees during the Ganesha festival.

On the 14th day of the festival he will become one with the nature and take the form of a tree to fight the evil rakshas Pollution and spread the wisdom of nature. It is said that he has received the boon of eternity and will be reborn till he eliminates pollution from the face of the earth.

Ganesh Chaturthi festival is celebrated with great devotion all over India. People bring home murtis (Idols) of Lord Ganesha, and celebrate the Ganesh chaturthi festival by worshiping Lord Ganesha. And this time, we have our favourite Ganu in our own college campus. Please enlighten us with your presence. Team Montage wishes everyone a very Happy Ganesh Chaturthi!

As a part of UPG college's Tree Ganesha initiative Mentorship program and the Women’s development cell teamed up with 'The Candle Project' a teaching initiative that helps educate the underprivileged kids of Versova and Vile Parle . The committees together had fun activities planned for the little toddlers. Where WDC entertained them with dance and music performances, Mentorship program organised a fun sketching competition for them. Both the committees and the kids had a gala time with the event!

Tree Ganesha : A Initiative by UPG College of Management and Rotract Club of UPG College. 7th September, 2016 The day started with aarti done by the principal, Dr. Anju Kapoor. This was followed by an essay writing competition organised by the Students Council, which was accompanied by a street play, on how does Eco-friendly Ganpati help the environment, performed by the NSS Team. We also had some special visitors.

Tree Ganesha : A initiative by UPG College of Management and Rotract Club of UPG College. 8th September : It was a special day today, Team Aahan charged up the atmosphere with their energetic performance. Followed by aarti done by the principal, Dr. Anju Kapoor in the presence of the management, the faculty and some special visitors.

Tree Ganesha : A Initiative by UPG College of Management and Rotract Club of UPG College. 9th September 2016 Cultural Committee was the organising body today. It started with an amazing piece of classical dance. The energy was further raised by our singers Mutuza Retiwala and Unnati Shah, the principal and other faculty members added to it. This was then followed by a game of antakshri, which was enjoyed by everyone including the principal, who sang along.

Tree Ganesha : A Initiative by UPG College of Management and Rotract Club of UPG College. 10th September 2016: It was a very interesting day today. The day commenced with aarti done by the principal, Dr. Anju Kapoor. There was an exciting quiz organised by the DLLE department for all the ingenious minds of UPG. This was followed by a guest lecture on how plants help our environment to grow and later the judge selecting three best plants from the 'Greenathon' event, an initiative by the NSS team for a better environment.

Tree Ganesha : A Initiative by UPG College of Management and Rotract Club of UPG College. 11th September 2016 It was quiet an exciting day today at UPG College. If there is Ganpati in the college, there has to be a Modak eating competition. E-Cell and RAW Club came together to organised a Modak eating competition. Everyone including the college faculty enjoyed this event a lot. This was followed by a round of Garba.

Tree Ganesha ; A Initiative by UPG College of Management and Rotract Club of UPG College. 15th September 2016 It's that time of the year, where we bid farewell to our dearest Ganpati Bappa and wait for him to come again next year. With a heavy heart and his blessings with us, UPG College bids goodbye to Tree Ganesha, today. The last aarti was done by our principal, Dr. Anju Kapoor. The idol was then moved from it's position and water was poured to dissolve it. It was a Eco - friendly visarjan. It was a pleasure for Team Montage to cover all the events that took place during the 10 days. Team Montage would like to thank the Principal, Dr. Anju Kapoor and the Rotract Club of UPG College for organising this event and trusting us with the coverage of the events. Also, the management staff of the college, for being cooperative. Lastly, a big thank you to Lokesh Sir for always being there.
